Florida and the Python Phenom!

On January 29th; on Tucker Carlson Tonight, at the end of his broadcast, Tucker Carlson featured a segment concerning the problem of pythons in Florida. Tucker’s guest from Florida, Mike Kimmel, known as the Python Cowboy; captures these clever and cunning killing constrictors for considerable coin! Tucker said as a teaser to the segment that... "Enormous invasive snakes are now invading Florida”! Later, just prior to the segment, before commercial break Tucker said; “It seems that giant pythons are taking over some parts of southern Florida." This makes it sound as though they have only just arrived. More likely Tucker has only just become aware of them. OK then Tucker; this green prophet will enlighten you too. What you all need to know before you proceed; is that this green prophet first wrote the gist of what you are about to read, waaaay back in 2010! This was long before anyone was hunting pythons in Florida! This was just after he researched and wrote about the alligators.

Green-tings fellow Green-Lings and Green-Wings; Who I am not important, but rather what I am and what I am, is a green prophet. Notice I said a green prophet and not The Green Prophet. A true prophet would never brag about it! Why? Because there is nothing to brag about! He or she does not control what he or she knows; a prophet just somehow knows. It is not what a prophet knows that is so remarkable although it can be. It is how he or she knows; because for this... there really is no logical explanation. What this green prophet knows that you should know at this time... is the truth about the invasive pythons in Florida.

My fellow Green-Lings and Green-Wings; Now former Congressman Thomas Rooney; served in Congress 10 years. He honorably served from 2009 to 2019. Republican Thomas J. Rooney represented Florida's 16th congressional district from 2009 to 2013 and Florida's 17th congressional district from 2013 to 2019. Now former Congressman Thomas Rooney; was and is an eco-system visionary! He probably saw first hand, what this green prophet simply surmised sooner, systematically searching the Internet. In his time in politics, Congressman Rooney was the first to care and understand about some of the very real natural dangers facing Florida then and today... right now! In 2012 Congressman Thomas Rooney tried to expand the ban on importing pythons. But too many idiots in politics disagreed and saw no need. Since 2017 Florida Governor Ron DeSantis; has been onboard with the elimination and removal of the invasive and evasive snakes.

But one of the many natural and then again, unnatural dangers facing the environments of Florida today... right now, with these invasive and evasive pythons, is the almost science fiction like scenario called {{Hybrid Vigor}}!

Hybrid Vigor, takes place when two similar yet distinct species, breed together. Like for example the two massive and invasive serpents threatening to rival the American alligator as the top apex predator in Florida today. For now, it is only the sheer numbers of alligators over pythons keeping the alligators on top. These snakes are the greater in girth... Burmese Python and the slimmer potentially even longer but far more aggressive... African Rock Python!

Now if... the greater in girth Burmese Python and the slimmer potentially even longer far more aggressive African Rock Python were to breed together, then the result would be the outcome called... Hybrid Vigor. Understand? The result would be a Super Snake combining the greater girth and size of the Burmese Python with the extreme voracity of the African Rock Python producing a more terrifying super serpent likely to prey on almost anything! Basically anything it wanted, that it could kill and swallow! Now depending upon the size of the snake this means almost any land animal indigenous to Florida.

Given enough time, unchallenged, this is not simply supposition, it is a probable prophesy. A prophesy that won't need a lot more time.

In nature we have seen this with European Honey Bees and African Honey Bees. When aggressive and non-aggressive are bred together, unfortunately, aggressive seems to dominate.

Now before you laugh; you should know that this Hybrid Vigor... has already been achieved in captivity. Before you laugh, you should know that there are thought to be thousands of African Rock Pythons in southern Florida and believed to be depending upon the source of the research, somewhere between 150,000 and 300,000 Burmese Pythons throughout southern Florida! Those numbers were also the estimates used on a program about pythons in Florida aired on Animal Planet; which this green prophet saw in 2010. But through this green prophet; who cares about your kids, you, your property and your pets, in that order; you will know the truth.

Update: 2023: The History Channel... Swamp People _ Serpent Invasion..."Super Snakes"! S3 - E9 Fellow Green-Lings and Green-Wings... did this green prophet call this in 2010 or what? On this episode the blessed swamp hunters of cable TV... find themselves facing off with the not so hypothetical Hybrids! Bigger and more aggressive just as imagined and written about by this green prophet in 2010... which is now... 13 years ago! That was when no one was hunting Pythons in Florida! ! As this green prophet has written a number of times before... "Sometimes it sucks to be right"! This green prophet actually loves the Swamp People! They have taken up the mission for money... this green prophet only imagined... in 2010! As he said in an update... "They would be perfect to mentor others who want to hunt both Alligators and Pythons! Another Cable show could be done about the whole precarious process"! Hunting critters for cash! Oh, another reminder, this green prophet also said in 2010... that hunting theses beasts... could make for a great cable show! Sometimes it feels so righteous... to be right! OK, back to the time line of this Python Post.

The truth is that those figures are from 2010! In addition, for some unknown reason, they were adjusted down from the experts original estimate of 300,000 Burmese Pythons in 2010... down to 150,000 giant serpents, to the 100,000 Burmese Pythons, which is their estimate today. The first draft of what is now this Post was written back in 2010. Yes! This green prophets suggestions of hunting the pythons in addition to using dogs to find the pythons, especially when it is too cold for them to move around, then capturing and killing the colossal constrictors came several years before anyone else realized that doing so was... even necessary! It is for the same reasons this green prophet believes that just as with the alligators... all of the experts estimates on the pythons are waaaay too low!

My fellow Green-Lings and Green-Wings; this green prophet is going to call upon some of you, who have a knack for numbers and statistics, to the challenge of calculating a more accurate estimate of how many African Rock Pythons and Burmese Pythons are currently residing in Florida; right now... today! You may not be as good at guess-tim-ation as this green prophet; but you are most certainly better at concrete calculation. Hahaha! He will just provide you with the stats he has. Don’t forget to factor wildlife predation before adulthood. Just so you know, this green prophets guess-tim-ation is at the very least... 500,000! Why from 2008 to 2010, there were over 30,000 sightings!

But here is the thing; those indigenous or natural, wildlife predation percentages are going to be much lower now. This is due to the fact that the mature pythons have been preying on their offspring’s predators since sometime before 2010! How long before 2010? Well, at the very least,12 years! It is this green prophets belief, that the now... predation devastation of the Burmese and African Rock Pythons, on all indigenous animals of Florida began in earnest, September of 1992; just after Hurricane Andrew! An example would be Herons and Storks.

Because pythons are invasive apex predators; meaning as adults, they have no real natural enemies; these sneaky slithering sinister semi-super snakes are at this moment destroying and dismantling the natural eco-system of Florida! If that is not scary enough, try this... each fully mature breeding female can produce a single clutch of eggs that can result in a new born brood of somewhere between 36 and a staggering 100 baby snakes!

Here is something else you should know; not so recently, two records were broken in Florida regarding these invasive and evasive pythons. The first was that a nearly 18 foot Burmese Python was discovered and killed. It turns out that it was of course, a female; which brings us to the second record being shattered as 87 eggs were found inside the giant snake! It is this prophets contention that the predation rates of the baby to adolescents pythons are only maybe 60 to 70 percent... or less!

Update: 2021: The newest record, by one inch, of a Burmese Python captured in Florida is... 18 feet 9 inches... and counting! That is just a little more than 2 feet shy of 2 basketball hoops high! Hahaha! There's the Dr. Seuss thing again!

Experts will tell you that the baby to adolescent pythons predation rates are upwards of 90 percent; meaning 9 out of 10 do not survive to adulthood. But as previously stated by this green prophet; there are other supposed facts, not being taken into consideration. Now, if you watch the same nature shows and have read the same Internet info as this green prophet; then you know there is a rather large discrepancy between the experts mortality rate estimates and this green prophets guess-tim-ations. Who should you believe? Who is more right?

Well, let's look at why this green prophet disagrees so strongly with the experts. They say that the predation or mortality rates of the Burmese and African Rock Pythons in Florida from birth to adulthood are at least 90 percent. But other experts claim that the percentage of indigenous or natural species that have been lost to adolescent to adult invasive pythons as well as other invasive species... is also as much as 90 percent!

Do you see the problem they have? They cannot both be right! It is a have your cake and eat it too situation; just like the alligators!

Much like the so-called statistics spouted and touted by the DC Dems, are more often than not... made up! Yes! They simply cannot be substantiated but are generally unchallenged by the average brain! They have little basis in fact... and are simply for affect! The truth of the matter is; without a much more serious and aggressive plan of attack eventually... the incidences of attacks in Florida on people either by alligators or pythons... will scare away the tourists! At present, it is just a matter of time... and Ti -i -i -ime is not on our side... No it's Not!

Once again, as in this green prophets 2 posts on alligators, as a Floridian in all likelihood you were not told by the real-estate developers or realtors before you purchased your home that at times... you might and probably would have to share your property with creatures that could easily kill and or make a meal of your livestock or pets... or even your kids!

The FWC say there is nothing that can be done about the thousands of African Rock Pythons and the probable hundreds of thousands of Burmese Pythons that have been allowed to invade the state! This is going all the way back to Hurricane Andrew and possibly before!

However; this green prophet believes and history concurs; that the FWC as well as the government of the state of Florida is seriously underestimating the tenacity of the human race. After all, we have successfully brought many species to the brink of extinction and beyond! No! That is not funny. It is just a fact! Make the task profitable enough... and there are people who will rise to the challenge!

Seriously though, as in the first Obama and even now Biden Leftist induced lethargic economy... if the state were to put size based bounties on those bad girls and boys... you would be amazed how fast their numbers could be diminished! Better yet; we could expand on the previous idea of what to do about the alligators... and teach those who want to learn how to catch, kill and properly prepare the meat and skins of the snakes. Note: Yes; these things are being done today. but remember this... Nothing was being done about it all... in 2010!

Perhaps even spoiled python meat could be used in some way. Like maybe to catch crabs or craw-fish or some other uses could be found for it. The prime python meat of course could go to wholesalers to be sold for human consumption to restaurants. Yes; expand the alligator cottage industry to include seriously reducing the numbers of these snakes for profit... and "We the People" of the U S of A in Florida, will once again... rise to the challenge! Just like the brave folks in Louisiana. The big difference is the hunting would be done closer to homes.

Another thing that must be done about all exotic animals brought into our country is they must be micro chipped with tracking devices; i.e. IDs; that must be included into the cost and documented at the point of purchase... in the pet stores and through the legal animal brokers. There also need to be mandatory finds of at least $5000.00 for anyone caught releasing a python into the wild. If the risk is not worth the reward... most folks are not so foolish as to risk releasing their so called... pet python into the wild! Especially, if the micro chip can ID them concerning the release and would cost them $5,000.00! Then they would likely not release the invasive serpent into the wild! As for the others... Well, you know what they say about a fool and his or her money, right?

There also need to be hefty fines for non-compliance with the law for retail outlets as well as consumers. In addition there needs to be a course and a test to take, and possibly even a license that proves the consumer knows how to take care of these potentially dangerous snakes... and all other potentially dangerous invasive creatures! Better yet... Out-law them!

The ignorant novice; who is only looking for a novelty pet; will probably not be willing to jump through these hoops. In which case; part of the problem is solved! Now if the novices who go to the black market and are caught are fined say...five thousand dollars per violation and selling on the black market carried a minimum of five years probation plus fines for the first offence and five years incarceration for the second offence; then we go along way to solving the rest of the problem. Wow! Isn't that overkill? NO! The overkill is what these invasive and evasive pythons have already done in consuming the innocent and defenseless indigenous animals that belong... in Florida!

Update: Once again, the first draft of what is now, this Post was written in 2010; 2 years into the first term of Obama. Now, only about 9 months into what may later possibly become known as the BiZzArO World Biden Administration, things are oh so... different! Biden and his (SOB)'s... (Subordinates Of Biden) do not care about real law and order any more... if they ever did! The DC Dems and company, have continued to allow wanton domestic terrorism to go on and on... un-checked! This inaction caused the real... insurrectionists reaction in the summer of 2020, in Seattle Washington and Portland Oregon as well as other places,, to become more and more brazen! If this were not enough, as proof of how little the Demoncrats care about anyone other than themselves, they have since allowed criminals including rapists and murderers to be released from prisons! Upon release, most almost immediately have been taking advantage of the lack of police presence and the lack of... law and order! So then my green friends, they are not at all likely to care about fines and time for black market pythons! But, fortunately for Florida... this is all about Florida! Much like former Congressman Thomas Rooney, Governor Ron DeSantis, gets it! He seems to have some understanding of the problem and he is seeking solutions! We don't need DC! Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, is at large and in charge... and he does care! So then:

The deterrents must be strong... or they will be ignored! The giant snakes kind of remind this green prophet of Isis. Think about it! They were discovered some time ago; disrespected as a threat in the first Obama administration; then dismissed and disregarded... leaving them free to multiply and destroy. This must change! In the mean time, as was first stated in (a green prophets) first draft in 2010... only now must be stated in the past tense... "Let's proceed in producing pretty python boots... belts and bags!"

The invasive carnivorous constrictors consuming the creatures native to Florida are causing catastrophic chaos! The damage done already is irrefutable and possibly... irreversible!

So far the pythons have not only been invasive but also evasive! There are specialists hunting them that have captured and killed more than 5000 since 2017, when Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, made it legal to do so! Recently, this has come to include those that this green prophet considers the best of the best... The Swamp People! But there are still waaaay too few hunting, maybe too late! What is needed is a new plan! A way to fight nature with nature! Just as with the alligators and the wild hogs; this green prophet has what he believes may be another "Above the Box" (possibly great idea) to accelerate the capture and elimination of pythons! What is it? Hahaha! Not yet. ; -)
